The site is in a side valley to the one going towards the Ganda Pass from Zinchen and the Indus Valley. It is about a 30 minute walk from Rubag, which marks the junction of the valleys, towards the Stok Pass, on the way to the base camp.

Comments on the environment: At the exit of the village of Rubag, there are remains of a dry stone construction: according to a local informant, it was a guard post built by the Mongols (Tibetans) at the time of the invasion, just a 30-minute walk from the rock art site.
